Gorgeous Manzanita Flat Burls!

Manzanita is formed from the root system of the tree. Each is unique and will
add character and style to any sculpture it's used with. What can you
imagine for your burl? An oceanside Mermaid grotto...a woodland Fairy
throne... a knarly old tree stump...a Dragon's lair?

There are no limits to what your imagination can do with a burl. You can add
corals, moss, pebbles or anything you like. It's natural, it's OOAK!

To add extra embellishments like moss or other natural
objects, I recommend using the following.

For coral, shells or other hard objects, use Apoxie Sculpt.
Press enough into the area where your object will go and
blend the Apoxie around the object to make it look as if it was
a part of the burl. You can use Liquitex Acrylic paints to match
the color to the burl color to the area where your embedded
object is for a seamless appearance.

For moss or other softer decor, you can use FabriTac or any
quick setting adhesive that dries clear.

To add glitters, Micro beads, Fairy Glamour...I recommend
using Judikins DG3.

Small Manzanita Flats

These flat pieces of Manzanita are the perfect foundation for creating a custom
woodland scene. Easy to decorate with your favorite greens and embellishments,
your fairy will look like she's walking in her native habitat with the unique crevices
and shapes. The perfect size for adding a touch of nature.

Your sculpture can stand, sit or be posed in a laying position.

This size is excellent for larger Fairy or Mermaid displays. Medium
flats are approximately 1 1/4 to 1/3/4 inches thick and 6-9 inches
wide. The surface has a satin finish. The underside may have
hollow areas. These areas are easily concealed with a felt bottom
application or by filling in the hollow with either Apoxie Sculpt or
Magic Sculpt then covering with a felt bottom.

Medium flats allow extra creativity with your display area.
